EXPORT FINANCE
Payment for the delivery.
Repayment over the loan term.
FIB provides the buyer with credit for an international purchase of machinery and equipment. Once the agreed disbursement conditions are met, the exporter receives the financed portion of the purchase price. The buyer then repays the loan over the agreed term.

Two payment schedules. One export transaction.
The export contract governs the supply and purchase price. The loan agreement governs financing and repayment by the buyer. The financed portion of the purchase price is paid to the exporter once the agreed conditions are met. The buyer then services the loan according to the agreed repayment schedule.
For exporters: sell without becoming the lender
Address the financing question during the sales process. For the financed portion of the purchase price, you do not have to wait for the buyer’s loan instalments: payment depends on the agreed disbursement conditions. You avoid providing that long-term customer financing yourself.
For buyers: invest and plan your cash needs
Spread the financed portion of the purchase price over the agreed term. Factor the down payment, interest, fees and instalments into your liquidity plan. We consider when the investment is expected to generate income and which loan term the cover framework allows.
Structured for the transaction.
Through to complex projects.
Buyer credits are our core business. For Small & Mid Tickets, we use established workflows. For Large & Complex Deals, we structure the additional requirements around the scope of supply, parties, payment schedule, financing and cover.
Small & Mid Tickets
Smaller financings still require credit assessment, cover, documentation and disbursement to work together. Established workflows keep the process manageable for exporters and buyers.
Large & Complex Deals
For more extensive projects, we align delivery and payment milestones with the financing. Depending on the mandate, we act as lender, syndicate bank, arranger, structurer or agent. Where the project requires it, we can also structure cash-flow-based project finance. Syndications and sub-participations allow other banks to participate.
Financing is subject to credit approval, eligibility for the applicable cover and agreed documentation. Amounts, tenors and disbursement terms are determined for each transaction.
What both parties should clarify before signing
When should we discuss financing?
Before payment terms and delivery dates become binding. Exporters and buyers can then consider the down payment, disbursement conditions and loan term together.
When does the exporter get paid?
Disbursement of the financed portion of the purchase price is governed by the loan agreement. Payment follows once the agreed conditions are met and the required evidence is provided. The exporter does not have to wait for the buyer’s individual loan repayments.
What should the buyer budget for?
In addition to loan instalments, the buyer needs to consider the agreed down payment, interest, fees and any costs that are not financed. The payment schedule is determined for each transaction.
What information do you need first?
The goods or services, exporter and buyer details, destination country, contract value, delivery schedule and proposed payment terms. These help us make an initial assessment of the financing and potential cover.
Do you handle larger transactions too?
Yes. Small & Mid Tickets remain a focus, and we also accompany large and complex transactions. Depending on the mandate, we act as lender, syndicate bank, arranger, structurer or agent.
